Attractions

  • Piton Crève-Coeur: Located between Le Marin and Sainte-Anne, Piton Crève-Coeur, is an old extinct volcano whose ascension offers exceptional points view on the island of Sainte-Anne. You can see the salt marshes, the savanna of petrifactions, and some far away islets.
  • Diamond Rock: There is an interesting history associated with the rock. It is said that the British dropped sailors on the island of Martinique and registered the rock as a ship, the HMS Diamond Rock. The French, after 17 months of unsuccessful attacks on the rock, apparently set adrift a load of rum near the island. A short time later the French attacked the island of drunken sailors and retook the rock.
  • Beaches: The Anses d'Arlet beach is easily accessible by foot and is lined with places to eat and drink. The island's black, white or peppered sand beaches surrounded by sugar, palm, banana and pineapple plantations play host to a number of water activities such as swimming, waterskiing, sailing, scuba-diving, snorkelling and spearfishing.
  • Diving: Le Diamant is considered to be one of the 80 most beautiful diving sites in the Caribbean Sea.

Dining

One of the greatest attractions of Martinique is its food. Whether you prefer fresh sea food or continental dishes there are no dearth of eateries and restaurants generously sprinkled across the island. Try the local flavours in the eateries dotting the beaches or dine in elegant settings in the restaurants in Fort de France.

Nightlife and entertainment

Enjoy an intimate evening in your vacation home or take long moonlit walks along the beach savoring the silence of the surroundings. If you want a change from the solitude, head to Fort de France where you will find ample opportunities to while away the hours in the numerous bars, pubs, nightclubs, and casinos.
