A sailing event held each year around the Bay of Robert.

• Le Jardin: Located about 10 kilometers from Saint Joseph, this is a traditional restaurant that seats about 60 people. You can also dine in the terrace or garden.

• La Belle Epoque: Visit this restaurant in Fort de France for a fine dining experience. The fish dishes are considered to be the finest in the area. You can also check out the beef dishes cooked to order.

Entertainment and nightlife

While on the island, you simply have to watch the performance of the folkloric troupe Les Grands Ballets Martiniquais. L'Atrium, Fort-de-France, is the venue for major island cultural events, including dance and music. The theatrical presentations, of course, are in French. If you want to gamble, you can check out the Martinique's major casino, Casino Bâtelière Plaza, at Schoelcher, a 10-minute drive from the center of Fort-de-France.
